  1. I’m glad you did. Every little bit helps. It’s hard stepping out of one’s comfort zone, but sometimes it is worth it. If not for the experience, than for the achievement of doing something that wasn’t just routine or of the known.

  2. I completely understand since I’ve had this experience once, except that I turned down the invitation. I would be too nervous around people that I wasn’t around much, and much happier on my own. I reasoned that they would be much happier too without my strange, uncomfortable presence anyway. Now though I wonder if I should have accepted the invitation; perhaps I would have made some unexpected friends, and felt what you felt.
